Hearthstone's massive Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, boasting a record-breaking 49 new cards, launches January 21st. This expansion, revealed during the November 13th, 2024 Warcraft Direct, bridges the gap between Hearthstone and StarCraft, introducing class and multi-class cards themed around the iconic StarCraft factions: Zerg, Protoss, and Terran.
The Mini-Set's 49 cards include three cards for each Hearthstone class. Five faction-specific cards, including one Legendary, represent each StarCraft race, playable by specific classes (e.g., Zerg cards for Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock). A single neutral Legendary card, Grunty, rounds out the collection. Card reveals will continue throughout the week leading up to the launch.
Key Features:
- Zerg: Focuses on summoning Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks for swarm-based damage.
- Protoss: Centers around mana manipulation, enabling the efficient deployment of powerful cards like the Carrier.
- Terran: Integrates the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond, introducing new Starship Pieces and strategies.
Pricing and Availability:
A complete Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set costs $20 (or 2500 gold), a $5 increase over standard Mini-Sets. The all-Golden version is priced at $80 (or 12,000 gold). Alternatively, individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) are available for $10 (or 1200 gold). Cards can also be obtained through The Great Dark Beyond card packs.
Launch Events:
To celebrate the launch, Hearthstone is hosting two streamed events:
- StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST): Featuring StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9.
- HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST): Showcasing Hearthstone community creators representing each StarCraft faction.
Viewers of these Twitch streams will receive two standard and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs. Don't miss out on this opportunity to earn free cards!
