More Information Coming Soon from Bandai
Gundam enthusiasts rejoice! An official GUNDAM TCG is on the horizon. A promotional video, posted on September 27th to the official GUNDAM TCG X (Twitter) account, launched the "#GUNDAM" global TCG project. This announcement coincides with the Mobile Suit Gundam 45th anniversary, celebrating 45 years since the original series debuted. The format – physical-only or including online play – remains unconfirmed.
Comprehensive details will be revealed on October 3rd at 7 PM JST during Bandai's CARD GAMES Next Plan Announcement, live-streamed on Bandai's official YouTube channel. The event will feature popular actors Kanata Hongo and Kotoko Sasaki, and former TV Tokyo announcer Shohei Taguchi. Hongo, a known GUNPLA aficionado, previously participated in the GUNPLA 40th Anniversary Project in 2020, demonstrating his passion for both GUNPLA and the Gundam franchise.
Anticipation is high among fans, reminiscent of Bandai's previous (now discontinued) TCGs like Super Robot Wars V Crusade and Gundam War. Many are already referring to this new game as "Gundam War 2.0." For the latest updates, follow the official GUNDAM TCG X (Twitter) account.
