Guide: Completing the Straw Hat Side Quest in KCD2

Embarking on new quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can be an exciting venture, especially when reaching the vibrant town of Kuttenberg. Once you arrive, the world opens up, allowing you to travel between regions and dive into fresh adventures. One such quest you can embark on is "Under the Straw Hat," but first, you must complete the "In Vino Veritas" side quest to unlock it.

How to Unlock 'Under the Straw Hat' in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To initiate "In Vino Veritas," head to the west side of Kuttenberg where Casper Rudolf is offering free wine samples. He's looking to refine his wine and needs your help to gather information. You have two paths: impress Havel with your wine knowledge directly, or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta to enhance your understanding of wine.

If you choose to approach Havel, ensure you're well-dressed and clean. During the conversation, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It’s missing ginger" to successfully extract the information he holds. Once you have the details, return to Casper and share your findings.

Access the Vineyard

With Casper's guidance, your next task is to infiltrate the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to learn more about the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid wandering into the fields to prevent trespassing charges. Instead, take the main road and speak to the recruiter who will introduce you to the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Continue along the road, past a guard, until you meet Jerome on a bench. Inform him you've been instructed to report there, and he'll provide you with details on working at the vineyard.

Working at the Vineyard

Your job at the vineyard begins the following day. After resting, return to the vineyard in the morning. You can either fulfill your duties by moving sacks and picking Thistle around the vines to earn payment, or bypass these tasks and head straight for the secret incense.

The wine cellar, where the incense is stored, is located downstairs in the main building. Accessing it requires either a lockpick or stealing the keys from Jerome. Inside the cellar, locate a chest and retrieve all the Sulphur Wicks to complete the main objective. For an enhanced reward, also pick up five seedlings found across the building from the main entrance. Be cautious, as entering these areas as a worker still constitutes trespassing, so act swiftly.

If you've completed your work, report to Jerome at the end of the day to receive your pay. Alternatively, return directly to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and, if collected, the seedlings.

By following these steps, you'll successfully complete both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, paving the way for other exciting side quests like "Master Schindel's Toys."
