Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 actor Ned Luke reassures fans that GTA 6 is worth the wait and makes a bold prediction about its sales. Dive in to learn more about what to anticipate from GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day
Ned Luke, the voice behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5, confidently predicts that GTA 6 will rake in a staggering $1.3 billion on its launch day. In a candid interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Luke expressed his excitement about the upcoming game, emphasizing the unpredictability and innovation that Rockstar Games brings to the table.
"Be patient," Luke advised fans, "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He highlighted that GTA 5 amassed over $800 million within its first 24 hours back in 2013, confidently stating that GTA 6 is set to surpass these figures by a significant margin.
According to DFC Intelligence, GTA 6 is projected to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its debut year, with a hefty $1 billion attributed to pre-orders alone.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6
Luke also shared his thoughts on the potential return of GTA 5 characters in both GTA Online and GTA 6. While his character, Michael, has been absent from GTA Online since its inception, the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, have made appearances.
Luke hinted at the possibility of Michael making a comeback in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even in GTA 6 itself. Meanwhile, Steven Ogg, who portrayed Trevor, discussed with ScreenRant in January 2025 his ideal scenario for Trevor in GTA 6, envisioning a dramatic "passing the torch" moment by having his character killed off early in the game.
"Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy," Luke remarked. Despite the enthusiasm from both actors, no official confirmation has been made about the characters' appearances in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase
Former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York suggests that GTA 6 is currently undergoing in-house testing. In a now-deleted video interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York described GTA 6 as an unprecedented open-world game due to its unpredictable nature.
"There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't," York explained, highlighting the game's innovative approach.
He believes that GTA 6 is likely in the final stages of in-house testing, with developers still refining and adding elements. York also speculated that the game might already be playable, with many testers potentially having experienced it firsthand.
Rockstar Games first unveiled GTA 6 with a trailer in December 2023, but since then, details have been scarce. Earlier reports suggested a Fall 2025 release, based on Take-Two Interactive’s 2024 Financial Report, though no specific release date has been officially announced.
