Fortnite's Latest Update: A Blast from the Past with Fan-Favorite Items!
Fortnite's newest update is a nostalgic trip for longtime players, bringing back beloved items like the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. December's already packed with Fortnite excitement, thanks to new skins and the annual Winterfest event.
Winterfest blankets the island in snow, adding festive quests and items such as Icy Feet and the Blizzard Grenade. Players can snag rewards from the Cozy Cabin and premium skins featuring Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond the holiday cheer, collaborations with Cyberpunk 2077 and Batman Ninja add even more to the mix. The OG mode also receives a significant update.
A recent hotfix for Fortnite's OG mode reintroduces the classic Launch Pad, a Chapter 1, Season 1 favorite. This iconic traversal tool, predating vehicles and other mobility options, lets players launch into the air for strategic advantages or quick escapes.
Nostalgic Return of Classic Weapons and Items:
- Launch Pad
- Hunting Rifle
- Cluster Clinger
The Launch Pad isn't the only comeback kid. The Hunting Rifle (originally from Chapter 3) returns, offering long-range combat options, especially welcome given the absence of sniper rifles in Chapter 6, Season 1. Chapter 5's Cluster Clingers also make a reappearance in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes.
Fortnite OG's popularity is undeniable, attracting 1.1 million players in its first two hours. An accompanying OG Item Shop offers classic skins and items for purchase, although the return of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper has sparked mixed reactions among players.
