One of the most famous CoD players thinks the series is in the worst state now

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is facing significant challenges, while its competitor, Marvel Rivals, thrives. Leading YouTubers and competitive players are expressing serious concerns about a dramatic decline in player engagement. Several content creators have even ceased producing Call of Duty content for Activision.

Call of Duty legend, OpTic Scump, has declared the franchise to be in its worst state ever. He attributes this largely to the premature launch of the ranked mode, compounded by a malfunctioning anti-cheat system that has resulted in rampant cheating.

Further highlighting the game's struggles, streamer FaZe Swagg dramatically switched from Call of Duty to Marvel Rivals during a live broadcast due to persistent connectivity problems and an overwhelming number of cheaters. His stream even included a live counter tracking hacker encounters.

These issues are exacerbated by substantial nerfs to the zombies mode, hindering the acquisition of desirable camouflage skins, and an oversaturation of cosmetic items. The perception is that Activision has prioritized monetization over meaningful gameplay improvements. Considering the franchise's historically massive budgets, the current situation is both unsurprising and deeply troubling. Player patience is finite, and the game appears to be teetering on the brink of a major crisis.
