This decision, revealed on Twitter (X), cites technical challenges related to multilingual European localization.

Omori's European Physical Release Cancellation

A String of Postponements

The publisher's Twitter (X) statement offered limited detail regarding the specific localization issues. However, fan concerns are understandable given the game's troubled release history in Europe. Initially slated for a March 2023 launch, the physical release was repeatedly delayed, first to December 2023, then to March 2024, and finally to January 2025 before being ultimately cancelled. Pre-orders placed on sites like Amazon were subsequently impacted by these postponements.

This cancellation is particularly disappointing for European fans, as it prevents the official release of the game in Spanish and other local languages. While European players can still acquire physical copies of Omori for Switch and PS4, they must resort to importing US versions.
