Project ETHOS: A Free-to-Play Roguelike Revolution

2K Games and 31st Union are revolutionizing the hero shooter genre with Project ETHOS. This free-to-play title seamlessly integrates roguelike elements into thrilling third-person combat. Each hero boasts unique abilities, and randomized "Evolutions" dynamically alter hero capabilities during matches, demanding constant adaptation and strategic flexibility. Transform your sniper into a close-quarters combatant or boost your support character into a solo powerhouse—the possibilities are endless.

What sets Project ETHOS apart? The answer lies in its dynamic gameplay. The constant need to adapt to evolving hero abilities and randomized match conditions creates a uniquely intense and replayable experience.

Project ETHOS features two core game modes:

• Trials: This signature mode challenges teams of three in matches against both AI and human opponents. Collect cores, strategically choose when to extract, and invest your earnings in upgrades for future runs. Dying means losing your cores, adding a high-stakes element to each match. Join ongoing matches and experience the dynamic battlefield from the moment you drop in. Match duration is visible before joining.

• Gauntlet: A classic competitive PvP tournament mode. Battle through brackets, upgrading your hero with each victory, ultimately aiming for a final showdown. Elimination means waiting for the next round.

Level up by collecting XP shards, eliminating enemies, and completing various map events.

How to Participate in the Playtest

Project ETHOS is committed to community feedback, regularly incorporating player input into updates and future development. The playtest, running from October 17th to 21st, offers a chance to shape the game. Earn a playtest key by watching participating Twitch streams for 30 minutes. You can also register on the official website for future playtest opportunities.

Current Playtest Region: United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. Global release plans are yet to be announced. Server maintenance will occur; check the official channels for scheduled downtime.
