EA Says Madden and FC Might Find ‘Real Energy’ on Nintendo Switch 2

EA's plans for the Nintendo Switch 2 are generating excitement. In a recent financial briefing, CEO Andrew Wilson indicated strong interest in bringing many of EA's titles to the new console. He specifically highlighted the potential success of flagship franchises like Madden and EA Sports FC, suggesting they could experience a significant boost on the Switch 2's platform. The Sims was also mentioned as a game likely to perform well, given the previous success of My Sims and the high percentage of new players it attracted. Wilson emphasized the opportunity to reach new players and communities with established EA IPs on a powerful new console.

While the announcement of Madden and EA Sports FC on the Switch 2 is unsurprising, the specific versions remain to be seen. EA's history of releasing "legacy" versions of FIFA on previous Nintendo consoles raises questions. However, with the Switch 2's increased power, there's hope for feature parity with other platforms, potentially resulting in a version of EA Sports FC 26 that closely resembles its PlayStation, Xbox, and PC counterparts.

The Switch 2's game lineup is gradually taking shape. Nintendo itself has confirmed a new Mario Kart is in development, with further details expected at a Nintendo Direct in April.
