Dragon Quest X is coming to mobile, but so far only in Japan

Dragon Quest X Offline is coming to Japanese mobile devices! This single-player version of the popular MMORPG will be available tomorrow on iOS and Android at a discounted price. The offline functionality makes this a particularly appealing release for fans.

While the original Dragon Quest X launched in 2012 and remained a Japan-only title, this offline version, released for consoles and PC in 2022, is now making its way to mobile. This marks a significant step for the game, offering a more accessible experience to Japanese players.

Unlike other Dragon Quest games, Dragon Quest X features real-time combat and other MMORPG elements. The mobile port maintains this unique gameplay style within the offline, single-player format. Interestingly, plans to bring Dragon Quest X to mobile were initially announced back in 2013 by Ubitu.

Unfortunately, there's currently no official word on a global release for Dragon Quest X Offline on mobile. While a worldwide launch is not entirely impossible, it remains unconfirmed. This is disappointing news for international fans who may have been hoping to experience this version of the game. The series' history, with the original X being Japan-exclusive, doesn't bode well for immediate global availability.
