Mastering the Art of Meal Prep in Monster Hunter Wilds
Hunting monsters requires meticulous preparation, and a hearty meal is paramount. This guide details how to cook and consume meals in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Cooking Methods:
Unlike World and Rise, Monster Hunter Wilds demands self-sufficiency in meal preparation. Two methods are available:
- Tent Cooking: After accepting a quest, access your tent and navigate to the BBQ menu (L1 or R1). Select "Grill a Meal."
- Portable BBQ Grill: Equip the Portable BBQ Grill from your inventory and press the square button to initiate cooking.
Meal Selection:
The cooking menu offers three meal types:
-
Recommended Meals: These utilize a Ration and any additional ingredients. A Ration-only meal provides a 30-minute buff (+50 Health, +150 Stamina, +2 Attack). Adding ingredients extends the duration by 20 minutes. This is a solid baseline.
-
Custom Meals: Allows for greater customization. Choose one Ration (meat, fish, or vegetable, each offering different buffs like increased attack, defense, or elemental resistance), one ingredient (enhancing buffs like gathering or damage reduction), and finishing touches.
-
Favorite Meals: Presumably, meals you've previously saved as favorites.
Once your meal is prepared, your Hunter automatically consumes it, readying you for the hunt.
