This guide helps you complete the challenging "Master Schindel's Toys" side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This quest becomes available during the main story mission, "Into the Underworld."

Initiating the Quest

To begin, you must progress to the "Into the Underworld" main mission. This involves tracking down an informant named Goatskin. Speaking with the Bathhouse Madam and then Adam at the bathhouse will reveal Goatskin's theft of Master Schindel's items.

Finding Goatskin

Goatskin is elusive. The most efficient method is to speak with Udo, a bathhouse patron who appears on the first floor in the evening. Convince Udo to go home and discreetly follow him. Goatskin will attempt to rob Udo in a nearby alley, providing an opportunity for confrontation.

Obtaining the Map

During the encounter with Goatskin, attempt a skill check to obtain a map of the Kuttenberg Underground. If unsuccessful, bribery will yield the map. The map, found on a corpse at the Kuttenberg gallows (southeastern city), is crucial for navigating the underground.

Locating the Stolen Items

The quickest route to the stolen items is through a northern entrance to the Kuttenberg Underground. Descend the ladder into the dark underground area. Remember to equip a torch! Navigating the underground, consistently turning left at junctions, will lead you to a barrel at a dead end containing the stolen book and astrolabe.

Returning the Items and Quest Completion

Retrace your steps to exit the underground. Locate Master Schindel (usually northeast of the city during the day). Returning the items completes the quest, rewarding you with reputation points and additional rewards. Further conversation with Schindel provides insights into the astrolabe and planetary mechanics.
