Revue Starlight Re:LIVE is officially shutting down. The mobile game, based on the popular anime, will cease operations on September 30th, 2024, at 07:00 UTC, ending nearly six years of service.
Why the Shutdown?
While initially a promising continuation of the Revue Starlight story, Re:LIVE's performance has lagged. Factors contributing to its closure include repetitive events, reused assets, and expensive battle passes. Storyline inconsistencies, such as a sudden shift in narrative focus, further hampered the game's appeal. The closure affects the game globally, including Japan.
Despite its shortcomings, Re:LIVE offered positive aspects: a fantastic soundtrack featuring music from the anime, and impressive 3D graphics and Live2D animations.
A Final Farewell?
Although the game's lifespan is nearing its end, players still have a few weeks to enjoy remaining content. Developers are implementing several farewell events throughout August and September, including a "Thank You For Everything" campaign offering ten free daily pulls and a two-month birthday celebration with new character gacha events. Download the game from the Google Play Store to experience these final events before the servers close.
