Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has responded to player feedback by reversing a recent change to the Zombies Directed Mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The January 3rd update introduced alterations to the Citadelle des Morts map's Directed Mode, specifically extending the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds. This proved unpopular, hindering kill farming and camo challenge completion.

The January 9th patch notes confirm the reversal of this spawn delay change, restoring it to approximately 20 seconds after five loops. The developers acknowledged the previous adjustment was not well-received and prioritized restoring a more enjoyable and rewarding Zombies experience. Additional bug fixes for Citadelle des Morts Directed Mode, including resolving issues with quest progression and visual glitches, are also included.

Further improvements target the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod, receiving four significant buffs:

  • Increased normal enemy activation rate (15% to 20%).
  • Increased special enemy activation rate (5% to 7%).
  • Increased elite enemy activation rate with Big Game Augment (5% to 7%).
  • Reduced cooldown timer by 25%.

These changes aim to enhance Shadow Rift's effectiveness and overall gameplay experience.

The update also includes various global fixes addressing character visual issues, UI glitches, and audio problems. Multiplayer stability improvements and adjustments to the Dead Light, Green Light LTM (adding Liberty Falls and increasing the round cap to 20) are also present.

Treyarch notes that further bug fixes, including solutions for the Vermin double-attack bug, are planned for the Season 2 update launching January 28th. Players can still complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before Season 1 Reloaded concludes.
