The Blood of Dawnwalker, new RPG from CD Projekt RED veterans, revealed

Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by former CD Projekt RED developers, recently hosted an exciting stream that fully revealed their debut project, The Blood of Dawnwalker. During this event, the team unveiled a captivating four-minute cinematic trailer, which also serves as the opening sequence for the game's storyline. This dark fantasy action RPG is set to immerse players in a thrilling narrative.

Set in an alternate version of mid-14th century Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows the journey of a young man named Coen. After the events shown in the cinematic intro, Coen acquires supernatural abilities and embarks on a desperate mission to rescue his loved ones from the clutches of vampires. However, he is constrained by a strict deadline—only 30 days and nights to achieve his goal. Time in the game advances during specific gameplay moments, requiring players to manage it strategically.

Throughout his quest, Coen will encounter moral dilemmas, forcing players to decide whether he should retain his humanity or embrace his dark vampiric nature. These choices will significantly impact both the gameplay and the unfolding narrative. A central mechanic, known as Blood Hunger, adds tension to the experience. If Coen goes too long without feeding on blood, he risks losing control and inadvertently killing an important character, which could lead to unforeseen consequences.

Players will have the freedom to explore richly detailed environments, with many aspects of the game influenced by the time of day. The developers refer to the open world as a "narrative sandbox," offering extensive opportunities for player actions and interactions.

The Blood of Dawnwalker has been in development for two years and is being crafted using Unreal Engine 5.
