"It's about providing players with constant opportunities to express and explore their character's leanings," Patel explains. She highlights the game's focus on player engagement, prompting players to consider their emotional responses: "When are you excited? When are you curious? When does your attention wane? What keeps you engaged?"

Patel notes that outcomes in Avowed depend heavily on exploration and discovery within the rich world of Eora, specifically the politically charged Living Lands. "I've enjoyed weaving together the narratives that connect these two worlds," she adds.

Players assume the role of an Aedyran Empire envoy investigating a spiritual plague while simultaneously pursuing their own political ambitions. "Giving players depth to explore—that's what makes for meaningful roleplay," Patel states. "It's about who you want to be, and how the game's situations allow you to express that."

"We have a double-digit number of ending slides, and many different combinations are possible," she reveals.
