Atomfall: A New Gameplay Trailer Unveils Post-Apocalyptic England
Rebellion Developments, renowned for the Sniper Elite series, ventures into new territory with Atomfall, a first-person survival game set in an alternate 1960s England devastated by nuclear war. A recent seven-minute gameplay trailer offers a detailed look at this intriguing title, initially showcased at Xbox's Summer Game Fest.
The trailer establishes a post-nuclear landscape reminiscent of Fallout and STALKER, featuring exploration of quarantine zones, dilapidated villages, and abandoned research facilities. Survival hinges on resource scavenging, crafting, and combat against robotic adversaries and fanatical cultists. The environment itself presents significant hazards.
Weaponry, while initially appearing basic (a cricket bat, revolver, shotgun, and bolt-action rifle), is upgradeable, hinting at a broader arsenal to discover. Crafting plays a crucial role, allowing players to create healing items and combat tools such as Molotov cocktails and sticky bombs. A metal detector aids in locating hidden supplies and crafting materials. Character progression involves unlocking skills across four categories: melee, ranged combat, survival, and conditioning.
Atomfall launches March 27th on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one. Rebellion plans to release another in-depth video soon, so stay tuned to their social media channels for updates.
