Renowned Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has shared a touching update as he recovers after being discovered "barely alive" in his hotel room last week.
A video from Johnson was posted on a GoFundMe page, which has currently raised $174,653 for medical costs and living expenses, revealing he had been placed in a coma.
"I've discovered an incredible amount of love in the world that I never knew existed, and I'm deeply thankful to every single one of you," Johnson expressed.
He added, "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there."
The voice actor and Washington Capitals announcer had traveled to Atlanta to host a charity event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation. However, concerns arose when he failed to appear at the function after checking into his hotel. His wife, Kim Johnson, contacted the hotel, leading security and emergency medical teams to his room, where they initially struggled to detect a pulse.

"Rumors about my condition weren't far from the truth—it was an extremely close call. But I'm still here," Johnson stated. "I survived because my wife decided to call the hotel where I was staying for the Alzheimer's Association event and had our son contact security, who found me nearly deceased.
"I was rushed to the hospital and placed in a medically induced coma for five days. It was then that I learned my amazing friends Bill Glasser, Shari Elliker, and Kim had organized this GoFundMe. Through it, I witnessed an overwhelming outpouring of love I never knew was possible, and I'm eternally grateful to each of you."
Johnson expressed his appreciation to the National Alzheimer's Association for arranging flights and accommodations for his family, thanked Ted Leonsis, chairman of the Washington Capitals' parent company, for his $25,000 donation, and acknowledged Glasser and Elliker for their support.
He also extended his gratitude to Bethesda, which shared messages of support on social media after learning of his health crisis. "You call me your friend, and I am—always will be. I love you all," he said. Johnson thanked his fans as well, both those who contributed financially and those who offered moral support. "I love every one of you. I'm not going anywhere," he affirmed.
"My recovery will take some time, but I am determined to return. I look forward to the day we can meet again and you can hear my voice. Cheers."
In addition to his video game roles, Johnson has appeared in various film and TV productions. His work with Bethesda includes playing Ron Hope in Starfield, Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among many others.
