Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the end of service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch.
The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, will continue operation and is even preparing for its 1.5th-anniversary celebration in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's closure.
Closure Details:
- Date: March 28th, 2025
- In-game Purchases: Disabled
- Remaining Lodestar Gems: Usable until shutdown
- Final Events: New content and events are planned leading up to the shutdown.
Reasons for Closure:
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the global server's closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing early on regarding the gacha system, gameplay mechanics, monetization strategies, and excessive power creep. These factors ultimately led to the decision to shut down the global version.
While the global version's first anniversary was celebrated on January 25th, 2025, its lifespan will unfortunately be considerably shorter than its Japanese counterpart. Players can still access the game on the Google Play Store to experience the remaining content and bid farewell.
