"Made in Abyss Universe Launches First Mobile Game"

Avex Pictures has exciting news for fans of the "Made in Abyss" series: a new mobile game titled "Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey" is in the works. This marks the first time the captivating story of the Abyss will be experienced on mobile devices. The announcement came with the launch of the game's official X account, which is set to provide updates as the release date approaches.

Details on the gameplay are sparse at the moment, but we know it will be a casual mobile title available on Android and iOS. Initially, the game will launch exclusively in Japan, with no confirmed plans for a global release just yet. Fans worldwide will have to keep their eyes peeled for any news on an international rollout.

"Made in Abyss" originally debuted as a manga in 2012, created by Akihito Tsukushi and serialized on Web Comic Gamma. The story follows Riko, a young orphan from the town of Orth, which borders a colossal vertical chasm known as the Abyss. This mysterious pit is teeming with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and an enigmatic allure that has claimed many lives.

Riko's ambition is to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished within the depths of the Abyss. On her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a half-robot boy with amnesia. Together, they embark on a perilous descent into the Abyss, fully aware of the risks they face.

The manga's popularity led to an anime adaptation in 2017, followed by a sequel film, "Dawn of the Deep Soul," released in Japan in 2020. Additionally, in 2022, Chime Corporation released a console and PC RPG titled "Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness," further expanding the universe of the Abyss.
