2025 Eisner Award Nominees Unveiled: Batman, Spider-Man Lead

The nominees for the 2025 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards have been officially announced. Often called the Oscars of comics, the Eisner Awards celebrate the finest creative achievements in the industry over the past year.

Fantagraphics and DC Comics lead this year's nominations, with Fantagraphics securing 24 nominations (plus 1 shared) and DC earning 10 nominations (plus 9 shared). Wonder Woman writer Tom King emerges as the most nominated creator with 4 nods, while several others received 3 nominations each.

DC's Absolute Universe features prominently among this year's Eisner nominees

Former IGN Comics editor Joey Esposito has earned recognition this year as well. Esposito and Sean Von Gorman's The Pedestrian received a Best New Series nomination, competing against titles like Absolute Batman and The Power Fantasy.

The winners will be announced at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25 during a ceremony at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel. Below is the complete list of nominees:
