It Seems Like The Last of Us 3 Won’t Happen

In recent years, anticipation for a The Last of Us sequel has been palpable online. Despite mixed reactions to the second game, many hoped Naughty Dog would address criticisms in a potential Part III or explore the universe through a spin-off. However, Neil Druckmann's recent statement surprised even the most dedicated fans.

During a joint interview with Craig Mazin, discussing both the HBO adaptation and the games themselves, Druckmann revealed his post-sequel struggles. Released during the COVID-19 pandemic, he described feeling unwell and overwhelmed. Isolation, coupled with internet access, amplified his anxieties as he engaged with online reviews and discussions, leading him to question the game's quality and his own work.

When asked about a potential third installment, Druckmann sighed, acknowledging the inevitable question. He stated, however, that fans shouldn't expect another The Last of Us game, hinting that the story might be concluded.
