“Heavens’ Revolution: A Lion Among the Cypress” is an interactive retro-futuristic fantasy novel by Peter Adrian Behravesh, inspired by eighteenth-century Iran, where your choices shape the entire narrative. This is a purely text-based experience—spanning 270,000 words with hundreds of choices—fueled entirely by the unstoppable power of your imagination, with no graphics or sound effects.

Your alchemical training places you at the forefront of magic and technology, mastering the science that governs both the material world and the celestial spheres. You can already craft gunpowder, design intricate machinery, brew potions to cure dreadful ailments, and distill potent perfumes. Though much astralchemical knowledge is lost, you could even learn to repair a khalicraft vessel to flee to another world, or pilot a towering mech into battle.

Seyj is an ancient city teetering on the edge of revolution. Half a century ago, the She’ri Empire invaded, toppled the old ruler, and occupied your planet. Your heritage is split between She’ri colonists and old Seyj families, leaving your loyalties divided.

Like every citizen, you must serve in the Royalist army and defend the satrap governor—yet you witness the Revolutionists' protests escalating daily, rallying to overthrow the satrap and restore the old regime.

When the Revolutionists seek to recruit you, will you believe their fight is just? Or will you stay loyal to the satrap and your oath as a soldier? Or will you play a more perilous game than your fiercest alchemical flame, acting as a double agent and feeding secrets between factions?
