Application Description

A West African strategy game

Known as Awale, Ayo, or Oware, this Mancala-family game is played by two players, sharing similarities with East African games like Omweso, Bao, and Igisoro.

Awale utilizes two rows of eight holes each, containing a total of 64 playing pieces (seeds or stones). Each player's territory consists of the row of holes closest to them.

The objective is to capture the opponent's playing pieces, aiming to prevent them from making any further moves.

Other members of the Mancala family include Ayo, Kisoro, and Omweso. It's believed that Mancala games originated in Ethiopia during the Aksumite Kingdom era.
