While World of Warcraft's 20th Anniversary celebration has concluded, players still have plenty to explore before Patch 11.1 arrives later this year. The popular Turbulent Timeways event from Dragonflight makes its return, offering special rewards for dedicated adventurers who can consistently earn the Mastery of Timeways buff.
Turbulent Timeways Event Explained
Unlike regular Timewalking rotations, Turbulent Timeways features seven consecutive weeks of Timewalking dungeons running from January 1 through February 25. Each week highlights different expansion content:
- Week 1: Mists of Pandaria (1/07 - 1/14)
- Week 2: Warlords of Draenor (1/14 - 1/21)
- Week 3: Legion (1/21 - 1/28)
- Week 4: Classic (1/28 - 2/04)
- Week 5: The Burning Crusade (2/04 - 2/11)
- Week 6: Wrath of the Lich King (2/11 - 2/18)
- Week 7: Cataclysm (2/18 - 2/25)
Completing Timewalking Dungeons grants Knowledge of Timeways stacks (lasting 2 hours, persisting through death). Each stack provides +5% experience from kills and quests. At four stacks, it transforms into Mastery of Timeways - a powerful 30% XP boost for 3 hours. Both buffs refresh when completing additional dungeons.
Maintaining stacks requires consistent activity - extended AFK periods will force players to restart their progress. Plan your play sessions carefully to maximize this leveling advantage.
Turbulent Timeways Rewards
Beyond leveling benefits, the event offers exclusive collectibles:
The returning Sandy Shalewing mount (5,000 Timewarped Badges) joins a new reward: the Timely Buzzbee mount. To earn this vibrant new companion, players must achieve Mastery of Timeways during at least five of the seven event weeks.
