Arctic Hazard unveils Norse, a fresh take on the XCOM formula, transporting players to Viking-age Norway. This strategy game promises a historically accurate and narratively rich experience, thanks to the involvement of award-winning author Giles Kristian, who penned the game's script.

The gaming landscape is saturated with medieval fantasy titles. However, for those seeking a more grounded historical experience, games like Manor Lords and Medieval Dynasty (both incorporating survival elements) offer compelling alternatives set in Central Europe. Imperator: Rome even allows players to command Roman legions and influence the fates of historical figures. Vikings, however, remain a popular subject in gaming.

Norse distinguishes itself as a turn-based strategy title, echoing XCOM's gameplay but firmly rooted in the Viking era of Norway. Players assume the role of Gunnar, a young warrior driven by revenge against Steinarr Far-Spear, the murderer of his father and fellow countrymen. Gunnar's journey involves establishing a settlement, forging alliances, and assembling a formidable Viking army. Unlike the construction-focused Valheim, Norse prioritizes narrative.

Arctic Hazard secured Giles Kristian, a prize-winning, Sunday Times best-selling author, to craft the game's compelling storyline. Kristian, with over a million books sold and more than six Viking-themed novels to his name, guarantees a high-quality narrative. The game's trailer showcases the developer's commitment to authentically portraying Norway.
