SoMoGa Inc. has unleashed a revitalized version of Vay on Android, iOS, and Steam. This classic 16-bit RPG returns with enhanced visuals, a modernized user interface, and controller compatibility.
Originally launched in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD (developed by Hertz and localized by Working Designs), Vay received an iOS re-release in 2008 courtesy of SoMoGa. This latest iteration builds upon that legacy.
Revamped Vay's New Features:
The revamped Vay boasts over 100 enemies, a dozen challenging bosses, and exploration across 90 diverse areas. A standout feature is its adjustable difficulty levels, catering to various player preferences. The inclusion of auto-saving and Bluetooth controller support enhances gameplay convenience and flexibility. Players can acquire new equipment, learn powerful spells through character leveling, and utilize an AI system for autonomous character combat.
The Story:
Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, Vay unfolds on a technologically underdeveloped planet after a catastrophic machine crash-lands. This destructive machine, malfunctioning and bent on annihilation, leaves a trail of devastation.
Players embark on a quest to rescue their abducted wife, a mission that could determine the fate of the entire world. The peaceful wedding day is shattered by an attack, triggering an epic journey to confront the war machines.
Vay's narrative is captivating, blending classic JRPG elements (experience and gold acquisition through random encounters) with modern enhancements. Nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes are included, offering both English and Japanese audio options.
Download the premium version of Vay on the Google Play Store for $5.99. For more gaming news, check out our other articles. For example, learn about the "Loving Reveries" update in Tears of Themis.
