Ubisoft finally patched incompatibility of AC Origins and Valhalla with Windows 11

We're back with another update on Ubisoft. While the company navigates ongoing challenges, there's some good news: a persistent problem has finally been solved.

Ubisoft has addressed compatibility issues between several Assassin's Creed titles and the Windows 11 24H2 update. Since at least Fall 2024, games like Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, among others, experienced malfunctions on the new OS. The solution arrived via recently released patches, announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.

Player response has been overwhelmingly positive, with comments expressing relief and gratitude. The blame for the initial issue rests with Windows, not Ubisoft, which has likely contributed to the more positive reception of the fix. Despite this, recent reviews for both games remain "Mixed."

There's also cautious optimism regarding Assassin's Creed Shadows. Its release, recently postponed to March 20th, aims to benefit from further quality improvements. The game's launch is considered crucial for Ubisoft's future.
