You'll need to correctly identify the ghost without traditional evidence or the safety net of sanity. This challenge takes place at 42 Edgefield Road, a house-style map known for its narrow hallways and claustrophobic layout, making it harder to track and evade the ghost.

Upon arriving at 42 Edgefield Road, remember that you won't have access to standard evidence-gathering tools like Ghost Writing Books or DOTs Projectors, not even Video Cameras.

Instead, focus on the ghost's unique behaviors, movement speed, and ghost model. Utilize the provided tools like the Parabolic Microphone to detect specific ghost sounds, or use Salt to identify a Wraith. Lighting three Firelights in succession might reveal an Onyro. You start with no setup time and zero sanity, making you instantly vulnerable to ghost hunts. Sanity cannot be restored, even with the two Sanity Medications provided. The ghost will exhibit high activity and frequent events, which can help identify its behavior, though it can roam, its favorite room remains constant.

Most doors will be partially open, complicating ghost location detection. However, the fuse box will be functional and on, and all nine hiding spots at 42 Edgefield Road will be available for safety during hunts.

The challenge provides the Monkey Paw as a Cursed Possession. Using it to "wish for knowledge" can burn out incorrect evidences and ghost types in your Journal, aiding your guess. Be cautious, as this wish will blind and deafen you and trigger a Cursed Hunt nearby. This strategy is best for groups where one player can act as a sacrifice.

How to Access Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia

To access Challenge Mode, go to the Difficulty Settings in the Main Menu. Choose Singleplayer or Multiplayer to start a new lobby, then select the Difficulty tab above your character ID. Scroll to find Challenge Mode, select 'Apply', and then choose 42 Edgefield Road from the Maps board. Remember, to earn the full $5,000 reward, you must complete the challenge three times, correctly identifying the ghost each time.

The Weekly Challenge resets on Monday at Midnight UTC, but North American players can start on Sunday evening at:
