Rocksteady Studios has unveiled Season 4 Episode 8, marking the culmination of major content updates for their live-service game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Launched to mixed reviews in February 2024, the game faced significant criticism, particularly for its unexpected live-service model. Less than a year after its debut, on December 9, 2024, Rocksteady confirmed that Season 4 Episode 8 would be the final chapter for the game, with the last patch rolling out on January 14. Despite the cessation of new content, the game's online features will continue to be supported, allowing players to enjoy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with friends.
Following a brief period of server maintenance, the final update, Season 4 Episode 8: Balance, is now live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This patch introduces an Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, a selection of potent Notorious weapons, and a new Mayhem mission that pits players against Brainiac in a decisive battle. Alongside these additions, the update includes numerous bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels.
While the servers will stay active post-Season 4 Episode 8, the game now supports offline play, a feature introduced with the Season 4 Episode 7 update in December. This allows players to access the main campaign and all seasonal story missions without an internet connection. Although Rocksteady has not announced plans to shut down the servers, the offline mode ensures continued playability should the servers eventually go offline.
For those yet to experience Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the game has been added to PlayStation Plus, available to subscribers until February 3, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.
