  • A patch addressing these issues will be released for the Nintendo Switch "as soon as possible."
  • These issues have already been fixed on PC, console, and mobile platforms, but the Switch patch is still in the pipeline.

Stardew Valley’s creator, ConcernedApe, has taken to social media to announce that the much-awaited Nintendo Switch patch tackling the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues is on its way. Since its launch in 2016, Stardew Valley has garnered a dedicated fanbase thanks to its charming gameplay and pixel art aesthetics. The game's soothing mechanics have kept it relevant and beloved among players. ConcernedApe has been proactive in rolling out updates, not just to introduce fresh content but also to fix bugs reported by the community. An update released in December, which addressed these persistent issues, is now nearing its release on the Switch.

ConcernedApe recently used Twitter to update players that the patch for the divorce crash and raccoon shop is "still coming." Although a precise release date for the Switch update hasn't been disclosed, the developer assures fans that it will be available as soon as possible. Following the launch of update 1.6, which brought new NPC chats, the Meadowlands Farm, and new festivals and events, players noticed these issues. These problems were already fixed on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Around Christmas, ConcernedApe informed the community via Twitter that the Switch patch was in development, and it now seems to be close to release, approximately 20 days later.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Fixing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Coming Soon

Update 1.6, released for PC in March, introduced a wealth of new content to Stardew Valley. Players enjoyed new NPC interactions, the Meadowlands Farm, and exciting new festivals and events. The update also enhanced visuals with additions like waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal world map variants.

Despite resolving many gameplay issues, update 1.6 inadvertently introduced new problems. It was rolled out to console and mobile versions in November, but players quickly encountered significant game-breaking bugs. An emergency patch was promptly released for the mobile version on November 15, while the developer continued to work on fixes for other platforms.

The Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe’s transparent communication and swift action in addressing player concerns. While the patch fixing the divorce crash and raccoon shop issues on the Switch isn't available yet, players can take comfort in knowing that the developer is diligently working to release it soon.
