The mobile gaming sensation Monopoly Go is set to thrill fans with an exciting collaboration with Star Wars, adding a dash of science fiction flair to its classic real estate and dice-rolling gameplay. Announced at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, this partnership will run from May 1 to July 2, drawing inspiration from iconic events within the Skywalker Saga and The Mandalorian.

During the Star Wars season on Monopoly Go, players can expect to see beloved Star Wars characters transformed into adorable cartoon versions. The season will feature a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to complete, thrilling podracing events at the Mos Espa Grand Arena, and a range of collectible in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis. Imagine the delightful scene of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn mingling with Mr. Monopoly, also known as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn't Monopoly Go's first foray into thematic collaborations; last September, the game featured a Marvel-themed event, bringing Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers into the Monopoly universe.

In other news, publisher Scopely has recently expanded its portfolio by acquiring the teams behind Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now as part of a deal with Niantic.

According to a report from our sister site GamesIndustry.biz, Monopoly Go has been crowned the top game for consumer spending in 2024, amassing a staggering $2.47 billion. The game also reported 150 million downloads and 10 million daily users in 2024, showcasing its immense popularity and success.
