Author: Patrick May 17,2025

Star Wars: Hunters, Zynga's debut venture into the iconic franchise, is set to close its doors just over a year after its initial launch on iOS and Android. The game burst onto the mobile scene in June 2024, captivating players with its unique blend of game show aesthetics and innovative interpretations of Star Wars archetypes.

However, it has now been announced that Star Wars: Hunters will cease operations on October 1st of this year. A final content update is scheduled to go live on April 15th. In the wake of this news, players can request refunds for any in-game currency they have purchased, and certain seasonal events will be rerun as part of an extended season three.

Fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of the final hunter, Tuya, will be pleased to know that they will still be able to experience this character in multiplayer. Tuya will be introduced with the final content update and will be available to play for free from the outset.

Star Wars: Hunters Final Update

The End of the Journey

This announcement has taken many by surprise, as there were few signs that Star Wars: Hunters was underperforming. Given Zynga's robust standing in the industry, it's reasonable to speculate that broader factors, such as market saturation within the pseudo-hero shooter genre, may have played a role. Additionally, the demographic shift towards an older Star Wars audience might not align well with the game's fast-paced, multiplayer focus.

For those who haven't yet experienced Star Wars: Hunters, there's still time to dive in before it's discontinued. Don't miss the chance to explore the game and check out our comprehensive tier list of Hunters ranked by class to optimize your gameplay!
