GSC Game World has committed to delivering substantial updates every three months for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The developers announced this quarterly roadmap strategy through the game's official Twitter account on April 14.

The studio plans to implement transparent quarterly updates, each accompanied by detailed patch notes to track implemented features versus planned improvements.

Building upon the successful Q1 updates that addressed critical issues through multiple hotfixes, the development team continues refining the game based on community input. The Q2 roadmap highlights several key improvements:

• Beta Mod SDK release
• A-Life/AI system refinements
• Mutant looting mechanics
• Shader compilation skip option
• Expanded player stash capacity
• Enhanced widescreen support
• Two new weapon additions
• Continued stability and anomaly fixes
• Next-gen upgrade for original STALKER trilogy

Modding Tools and AI Enhancements

GSC Game World emphasized two primary focus areas: the Beta Mod SDK and A-Life system upgrades. The studio will conduct closed beta testing with selected mod creators before the official tool release, with planned integration for Mod.io and Steam Workshop platforms.

The A-Life system receives ongoing attention after last year's massive 110GB Christmas update. Planned improvements include persistent A-Life behaviors and enhanced combat AI with better cover usage, flanking maneuvers, and grenade management.

Mutants will exhibit more complex behaviors including corpse consumption and threat response. Additional technical improvements feature expanded inventory space, widescreen optimization, new weapons, and performance optimizations alongside the promised original trilogy remaster.
