Sony Incentivizes PSN Signup for The Last of Us 2 Remastered on PC with Exclusive Ellie Skin

Sony has unveiled the much-anticipated PC specifications for *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* ahead of its release on April 3. The announcement, detailed on the PlayStation Blog, also highlighted new content for No Return Mode on both PC and PlayStation 5, alongside incentives for PSN sign-ins.

Developed with the help of Nixxes Software and Iron Galaxy, the PC version of *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* brings a host of features a year after its debut on the PlayStation 5. Here’s what PC gamers can look forward to:

The Last of Us Part II Remastered PC Features:

  • Nvidia DLSS 3 Super Resolution support
  • AMD FSR 3.1 and AMD FSR 4 support with upscaling and frame generation
  • VSync and framerate cap options, including an uncapped framerate option
  • DirectStorage support
  • Adjustable Texture Quality, LOD Distance Range, Volumetric Quality, Shadow Quality, Ambient Occlusion, and Reflections Quality
  • Support for Ultrawide monitors, including 21:9 ultra-wide, 32:9 super ultra-wide, and 48:9 resolutions with triple-monitor setups
  • 4K resolution support
  • 3D audio
  • Full support for various controllers, keyboard and mouse, with new control customization options including full control remapping, primary and secondary bindings, and an adaptive mode for mixed inputs
  • DualSense controllers feature full haptic feedback

Sony emphasized that the PC version offers a wide range of graphics settings and presets, catering to everything from high-end PCs to handheld gaming devices.

In addition to the PC version's specs, Sony announced updates to No Return Mode, introducing two new characters, Bill and Marlene from *The Last of Us Part I*, each with unique playstyles:

  • Bill, with a "Smuggler" playstyle, can access a custom pump shotgun from dead drops, receives double rewards from drops, is stronger against melee attacks but can’t dodge.
  • Marlene, with a "Risk Taker" playstyle, features a Custom Assault Rifle, "All or Nothing" gambits, and can reroute her No Return path once per run.

Four new maps are also being added to No Return Mode:

  • Overlook: Set high above Seattle, featuring verticality and a memorable Seraphites encounter.
  • School: An abandoned elementary school where Ellie and Dina face off against the W.L.F.
  • Streets: Set in the overgrown Seattle neighborhood of Hillcrest.
  • Nest: Familiar to players who have played as Abby through an Infected-infested building.

All new No Return content, along with new Trophies and bug fixes, will be available on PS5 simultaneously with the PC launch through a free downloadable 2.0.0 patch.

For PC players, logging into PSN is optional but comes with incentives. Signing in grants access to the PlayStation overlay, PSN Trophies, 50 in-game points to activate bonus features, and a new skin for Ellie featuring Jordan A. Mun’s jacket from Naughty Dog’s upcoming PS5 game, *Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*. PS5 players can also unlock the same skin via in-game bonus points in the 2.0 patch.

*Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet*, which has been in development for four years, stars Tati Gabrielle as Jordan A. Mun and is set in an alternate historical timeline with a focus on faith and religion. Neil Druckmann, the director of *The Last of Us*, shared insights on the game's development in an interview with Alex Garland, writer of the zombie movie *28 Days Later*.

The PC release of *The Last of Us Part II Remastered* comes ahead of Season 2 of HBO's TV adaptation, with showrunners Druckmann and Craig Mazin confirming that spores, omitted in Season 1, will make a return.
