Following Silksong's brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might bypass the current-generation console and head straight to the next-gen. Initially announced in 2019 for PC and Switch 1, and later confirmed for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Silksong has been eagerly awaited by fans.

On April 8, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, Matthew Griffin, took to Twitter (X) to address fans' concerns about the game's platform release. Griffin reassured fans that Silksong will be available on both the original Switch and the Switch 2. Although there are no official details on how these versions will differ, players can anticipate that the game will take advantage of the Switch 2's enhanced capabilities, likely offering a higher resolution.
