Sonic Rumble, despite not having launched globally yet, has already kicked off an exciting crossover event named Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event, showcasing some of SEGA's most beloved characters, is live from now until May 7th, right before the game's worldwide launch scheduled for May 8th.
Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is accessible in over 40 countries. It underwent pre-launch phases throughout 2024, with the first phase hitting regions such as the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia during the summer. The second pre-launch phase expanded to include Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and other regions.
What’s in Store?
If you're in a region where Sonic Rumble soft-launched last year, you're in for a treat with the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. Fans of the classic Altered Beast can rejoice as the Werewolf transformation is available for free. For those nostalgic for the beast modes, the Werebear and Weredragon are also up for grabs. The Weredragon is part of the Premium Pass, whereas the Werebear can be purchased with regular rings.
Fantasy Zone enthusiasts will be thrilled to see Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa join the fray. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, while Upa-Upa can be acquired through fragments purchasable with standard rings, at 700 rings each.
Super Monkey Ball fans, AiAi and MeeMee have also made their way into the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. If you're particularly keen on AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. To get a taste of the action, check out the crossover event below.
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During the event, you can collect SEGA logos in matches to earn additional rewards. It may seem unusual for this event to be live before the global release, but SEGA has assured that most of these pre-release rewards will be available again in the future.
It's thrilling to witness Sonic Rumble's inaugural crossover event, which deeply integrates SEGA's rich history and current offerings. The unique blend of monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed creatures colliding with Sonic and his friends sets a promising stage for Sonic Rumble.
You can download Sonic Rumble from the Google Play Store now, or wait for its official launch on May 8th in your region.
