Respawn Axes Secret Titanfall Multiplayer Project

A former employee of the studio recently disclosed on her LinkedIn profile that a game, which had been in development for several years, was abruptly halted this week. No clear explanation was provided for the sudden termination of the project. Last year, gaming journalist Jeff Grubb indicated that this project was not a mainline entry in the series, specifically clarifying that it was not Titanfall 3. To bring this vision to life, Respawn Entertainment had assembled a dedicated "experimental team" composed of experts in multiplayer shooter development.

This is not the first time Respawn has had to cancel a project; last year, they shut down another game, an arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends. The Titanfall series, renowned for its exhilarating mix of action and mech piloting, allows players to engage in combat either as agile pilots or as formidable Titans. Since its debut in 2014, the franchise has captivated gamers worldwide with its distinctive gameplay, which integrates parkour and intense team battles.

Currently, Respawn's focus has shifted to other high-profile projects. They are diligently working on the third installment of the Star Wars Jedi series and collaborating with Bit Reactor on a new strategy game set within the Star Wars universe.
