Pedro Pascal Denounces JK Rowling's Anti-Trans Remarks

Pedro Pascal, the acclaimed actor from hit series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and the upcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling over her ongoing online remarks against the transgender community.

Pascal voiced his opinion in the comments of a video shared on April 17 by writer and activist Tariq Raouf. In the video, Raouf condemns Rowling's endorsement of the UK Supreme Court’s decision to legally define "woman" as "a biological woman and biological sex" within national equality legislation. This definition effectively excludes transgender women from protections under the Equality Act.

Following the ruling, Rowling posted a celebratory photo on Twitter/X showing herself relaxing by the ocean, smoking a cigar and enjoying a beverage, with the caption, "I love it when a plan comes together"—referring to her past financial support for the organization that brought the case, For Scotland Women.

In his video, Raouf criticized Rowling’s behavior as “serious Voldemort villain sh**” and called on viewers to boycott Harry Potter and all related content in response. Pascal replied to the video, adding: “Awful disgusting SH** is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”

This isn’t Pascal’s first time speaking out in defense of transgender rights. In the past, he shared a post stating, “I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist,” alongside a photo of a sign that read, “A world without trans people has never existed and never will.” He also wore a T-shirt at the London premiere of Thunderbolts that said “Protect the dolls,” a term used within LGBTQIA+ circles referring to trans women.

Pascal’s support for the transgender community is personal as well—his sister, Lux Pascal, is a trans woman who came out publicly in 2021. Pascal immediately expressed his support at the time, posting, “Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux,” which translates to “My sister, my heart, our Lux.”
