Overwatch 2 Reveals New China-Exclusive Events

Overwatch 2's triumphant return to China on February 19th brings a wealth of rewards and exciting events for players. This relaunch will allow Chinese players to catch up on missed content from Seasons 1 through 9, including Battle Pass rewards and popular in-game events.

The highly anticipated Season 15 will feature a captivating theme: skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology. While specifics remain scarce, the prospect of new or existing skins, potentially exclusive to the Chinese market, or even a broader mythological storyline for the season, has generated considerable excitement. The full reveal is expected in early February.

A technical test held in January offered a sneak peek at much of the returning content, including "Overwatch: Classic" and six heroes previously unavailable. Following the test, game director Aaron Keller confirmed a multi-week celebratory event encompassing many beloved in-game events and rewards. Players will earn Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1-2 before launch, and Seasons 3-9 will be accessible through post-launch events.

In the interim, global players can enjoy the "Min 1, Max 3" 6v6 test (January 21st - February 4th), featuring the classic 2-2-2 team composition. The Lunar New Year and "Moth Meta Overwatch: Classic" events are also scheduled before Season 15. While Chinese players may miss these specific events, their own unique celebrations are just around the corner.
