Nintendo Unveils Switch 1 Direct Before Switch 2 Event

Nintendo has announced an exciting Nintendo Direct focused exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, scheduled for 7am PT on March 27. This presentation will run for approximately 30 minutes and showcase a variety of upcoming games for the platform. It's important to note that this Direct will not include any updates about the Nintendo Switch 2, as those details are reserved for a separate event planned for 6am PT on April 2.

So, what can fans anticipate from this Nintendo Direct? Despite the impending launch of the Switch 2, Nintendo still has a robust lineup of games slated for the original Switch. With the Switch having sold an impressive 150.86 million units to date, it remains a significant platform that neither Nintendo nor other developers can afford to overlook.

Among the titles expected to be highlighted are Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, both slated for release in 2025 on the Switch. Additionally, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to arrive on the platform sometime this year. Fans are also eagerly awaiting Hollow Knight: Silksong, which was initially announced for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch six years ago. Given the Switch 2's backward compatibility, these games are expected to be playable on both the original Switch and its successor.
