New Nintendo Switch OLED Consoles Go on Sale at AliExpress as the Switch 2 Takes Off

Author: Zachary Jul 25,2025

If you're on the hunt for a Nintendo Switch OLED (not the Switch 2), here’s a deal that’s hard to ignore. AliExpress is currently offering the Nintendo Switch OLED model for just $237.49, with free shipping direct from a local US warehouse. This means faster delivery and added peace of mind, backed by AliExpress’s buyer protections—get a token refund if your package is delayed, and a full refund if it’s lost, damaged, or doesn’t arrive within 20 days of your order.

This is a brand-new, authentic Nintendo Switch OLED, though it's an imported international model. As such, the manufacturer’s warranty won’t be valid in the United States. However, you do have a 15-day return window if needed. Please note that the packaging and included materials may be in a language other than English. That said, all Nintendo Switch consoles are region-free, so you’ll have no issues using it in the US. You can easily set English as your default language during setup—just like with any locally purchased console.

Update: While this deal was initially spotted on Woot, that listing has expired. The AliExpress offer now provides a similar imported model at an even better price.

If you can stretch your budget slightly beyond the base Switch model, the OLED upgrade is absolutely worth it. The OLED model features a vibrant 7-inch OLED display, delivering superior image quality compared to the original’s 6.2-inch LCD screen. Expect deeper blacks, richer colors, smoother gradients, and sharper text—making gameplay and menu navigation significantly more enjoyable. Despite the modest increase in screen size, the thinner bezels make the display feel much larger and more immersive.

Additional improvements include a sturdier, adjustable kickstand, a hardwired Ethernet port on the dock for stable online play, and the sleek, exclusive white console shell with matching white Joy-Con controllers.

The Switch 2 is here—but the original Switch still holds value

Yes, the Nintendo Switch 2 has launched, but that doesn’t make the original Switch obsolete. In fact, the Switch 2 retails at a steep $449.99, and there’s currently only one major new AAA title available for it: Mario Kart World Tour, priced at $79.99—unless you snag it in a limited $500 bundle. While some existing games offer enhanced visuals and performance on the Switch 2, those upgrades don’t yet justify the high price tag for most players.

Personally, I’ve decided to hold off on upgrading to the Switch 2 until a stronger lineup of must-play exclusives drops—or until a standout themed edition is released. In the meantime, the Switch OLED remains a powerful, portable, and affordable way to enjoy the entire Nintendo library.

Is it still worth buying a Nintendo Switch in 2025?
