During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo unveiled a host of new features for the system. The Nintendo Switch 2 features a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. The screen resolution has been doubled, offering a crisp 1080p display in handheld mode at up to 120fps. This LCD screen also supports HDR, enhancing visual quality. When docked, the system can upscale to 4K resolution with HDR support, ensuring a stunning visual experience on larger screens.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers introduce a new magnetic connection system and are detached using a release button located on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are larger, improving gameplay in horizontal mode, while the left and right sticks have also been upsized for enhanced comfort and control. A notable feature revealed in this segment is the integration of mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with a built-in microphone featuring noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games, promising a more immersive gaming experience. The system includes a larger and more robust stand, adjustable to various heights, and a top USB port that supports external camera connectivity and allows for charging in tabletop mode.
