Netflix is venturing into the MMO space with Spirit Crossing. This cozy life simulation game, developed by Spry Fox, was unveiled at GDC 2025. If you've enjoyed Spry Fox's previous titles such as Cozy Grove and Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, you can look forward to soft pastel aesthetics, relaxing music, and an emphasis on community rather than rivalry.
What We Know About Netflix's Spirit Crossing
In this game, you can explore a vast world, construct and customize homes, and develop a bustling village alongside other players. Activities include collecting materials, riding charming fluffy creatures, participating in dance parties, and simply relaxing with friends.
Spirit Crossing's visual style draws from Studio Ghibli, French comic books, and elements of modern art like Corporate Memphis. The aim is to create an enduring and welcoming environment where players feel at home for the long term.
A distinctive in-game calendar system influences how you progress. Planted trees don't mature immediately; they require three to six real-world months to develop into a full orchard ready for harvest. This reflects the slow-paced, long-term design approach Spry Fox also explored in Cozy Grove.
Fostering meaningful relationships is a central theme, aligning with Spry Fox's longstanding design principles. Studio co-founder David Edery expressed his vision for Spirit Crossing as a place where strangers can become friends.
Netflix has released an enchanting trailer for Spirit Crossing that captures the game's delightful atmosphere. Be sure to watch it below.
