Monster Hunter Now Tests New Monster Outbreaks Feature

Exciting developments are unfolding in Monster Hunter Now as Niantic introduces a new feature for testing called Monster Outbreaks. This test phase is designed to gather player feedback, allowing Niantic to refine the feature before its official launch.

When Is the Monster Outbreaks Testing in Monster Hunter Now?

The Monster Outbreaks testing will take place from April 26th to April 27th, with two sessions each day. The event will run from 10:00 to 10:59 a.m. and again from 3:00 to 3:59 p.m., local time, on both Saturday and Sunday. During these specified hours, players will encounter a surge of 8-star Black Diablos at designated outbreak points on the map. The goal is for players to collaborate and take down a total of 100 Black Diablos at each outbreak location within the one-hour window.

To participate, hunters must be at least HR 11. Note that the party feature won't be available; only in-person group hunts will count towards the goal. Outbreak points are clearly marked on the map with a unique icon. By tapping on these icons, players can access detailed information and even sign up on a roster to coordinate their hunting times with others.

Black Diablos Is Rolling Up with Serious Boss Energy, in Swarm Mode!

A fascinating aspect of the Monster Outbreaks is the slay count mechanism. If you and three other hunters take down a single Black Diablos, it contributes four kills towards the target of 100. Should your group reach the 100-kill goal before the session ends, you can continue hunting Black Diablos for the remainder of the hour.

Successful groups that hit the 100 Black Diablos mark will be rewarded with 3 Black Diablos Tailcases, 3 Ridges, 3 Primeshells, 3 Marrows, and 2,000 Zenny. Additionally, participants who use the sign-up roster are eligible to earn a special Outbreak Test I Medal.
