Marvel Rivals Unveils Season 1's Sanctum Sanctorum Map: A First Look
Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, "Eternal Night Falls," launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, introduces a thrilling new map: the Sanctum Sanctorum. This iconic location will host the game's newest mode, Doom Match, a chaotic free-for-all for 8-12 players where the top half emerge victorious.
Beyond the Sanctum Sanctorum, players can anticipate two additional maps: Midtown, the setting for a new convoy mission, and the mysterious Central Park, slated for a mid-season update.
The Sanctum Sanctorum itself is a visual feast, blending opulent décor with surreal elements. A sneak peek reveals floating kitchenware, a bizarre refrigerator inhabitant, winding staircases, levitating bookshelves, and powerful artifacts. Even a portrait of Doctor Strange himself adds a touch of whimsy to the otherwise mystical setting. A subtle nod to fans includes the appearance of Wong, a beloved character making his in-game debut, and Doctor Strange's spectral canine companion, Bats.
This season's narrative pits the Fantastic Four against Dracula, who serves as the primary antagonist. Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman join the fight at launch, with the Human Torch and The Thing arriving later in the season. The Sanctum Sanctorum, therefore, serves as both a battleground and a detailed representation of Doctor Strange's unique home. The level of detail in the map's design is a testament to the developers' dedication.
The upcoming season promises a wealth of new content for Marvel Rivals, leaving players eagerly anticipating what's in store.
