"Mandalorian and Grogu Update Enhances Millennium Falcon Ride - Star Wars Celebration"

Star Wars Celebration unveiled thrilling updates for the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu-themed expansion in Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, set to launch alongside the new movie. This update promises to immerse fans in an interactive experience featuring Din Djarin and Grogu, with Engineers playing a pivotal role in caring for the beloved character. Additionally, adventurers will have the chance to explore Coruscant alongside familiar planets like Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor in a choose-your-own-adventure storyline.

Scheduled for release on May 22, 2026, this update will take players on a unique journey distinct from the plot of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie. The narrative kicks off with Hondo Ohnaka discovering a shady deal between ex-Imperial officers and pirates on Tatooine, sparking a high-stakes chase across the galaxy. Guests will join forces with Mando and Grogu to pursue these fugitives and claim a bounty in a dynamic adventure that spans the galaxy.

While details are still emerging, it's clear that Engineers will have a significant role, entrusted with looking after Grogu. Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama provided insight into what guests can anticipate from this new mission. "Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually get to communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "So, we think it's going to be a ton of fun. There may be times when Mando has to deboard the Razor Crest and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a little happy on the control panel. We love the idea of there being these fun little vignettes and moments where you're sort of on the comm with Grogu."

The interactive element of the experience includes a choose-your-own-adventure aspect, where players face critical moments requiring swift decisions on which bounties to pursue. These choices will shape the destinations visited throughout the adventure. "There will be a sort of critical moment in your adventure where you are strapped for time and have to make a lightning quick decision about which of our particular bounties we want to pursue. And that's going to be the sort of inciting incident that allows us to decide which are the different destinations we go to," Kalama shared.
