LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: a colossal T-rex skeleton that spans over three feet in length. This impressive set comes complete with minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, two beloved characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where this iconic skeleton is prominently featured in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
**Release Date**: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
**Price**: $249.99
**Pieces**: 3,145
**Ages**: 18+
**Dimensions**: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This set, designed for adults with 3,145 pieces, is meant for display rather than play, incorporating advanced building techniques that may challenge younger builders. The scale of the set is truly awe-inspiring, stretching over three feet when fully assembled. The included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler help to illustrate the size, but it's the detailed skeleton that captures the essence of this set. The skull closely resembles the already available LEGO T-rex skull, which my son built and found to be visually stunning. However, the complete skeleton adds significant depth and impact to the overall design.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: T-Rex Skeleton
The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for a variety of poses. The head can move, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail can be adjusted to your preference. As with many LEGO sets inspired by movies, this one includes hidden Easter eggs that you'll uncover during the building process. It also includes a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World series may not be as extensive as the LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter collections, it is rapidly expanding. I'm particularly excited about the inclusion of more adult-focused sets like this T-rex skeleton in future releases.
