KOFI Shuts Down, Farewell to the King

Netmarble's popular action RPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is officially shutting down on October 30th, 2024. This news, recently announced on the official Netmarble forums, marks the end of over six years of intense fighting game action. The in-game store has already been closed since June 26th, 2024, ending the possibility of further in-app purchases.

While the game enjoyed considerable success, boasting millions of downloads and positive reviews praising its smooth animations and engaging PvP battles, the developers hinted at a potential lack of new characters to adapt as a contributing factor to its closure. However, this is likely just one piece of a larger puzzle, with underlying issues possibly playing a more significant role. Recent optimization problems and frequent crashes also contributed to player frustration.

Despite these challenges, players still have approximately four months to experience the numerous legendary fights and crossovers King of Fighters ALLSTAR offered. Download it from the Google Play Store before the servers go offline in October.
