This HP Omen Max 16 model features a 16-inch 2560x1600 display, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, GeForce RTX 5080 graphics, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The Core Ultra 9 275HX reaches a maximum turbo frequency of 5.4GHz, with 24 cores and 40MB of total L2 cache. According to Passmark, this ranks among the fastest laptop processors on the market, competing directly with the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D.

Tom's Hardware reports that the RTX 5080 mobile GPU delivers roughly 15% to 20% more power than the RTX 4080 mobile it replaces. It also edges out the previous generation's flagship RTX 4090 by about 5%. The RTX 5080 presents a stronger value proposition than the significantly more expensive RTX 5090, trailing its performance by only around 15% despite a nearly $1,000 lower price. This GPU is capable of running new and upcoming games at high frame rates, even at the display's native 2560x1600 resolution.
